Choose Kindness

Those who know me, know I have a soft heart for animals. Fact is we can read in proverbs we are told, “A righteous man regards the life of his animal. Proverbs 12:10.

The world seems to have forgotten what caring for animals really means.

A dog, depending on its breed has maybe 10-15 of life, a cat, can live up to 20 years then there’s the horse, 30+!years.

The creature has given right to live according to God the creator to live. Each breed of dog is unique. Cats tend to be independent yet I’ve seen some as loving as a canine. It is said that a country can be judged by how they treat their animals. I’m not speaking as a vegan who never eats meat. The word kosher implies God’s thoughts that animals are to be treated with kind hands. Seems as though people believe animals are expendable. Puppies and kittens are adopted everyday in the country. Some as gifts given in love failing to realize there is a small heart under that ball of fur. Just like a child they depend on an owner for food, water and housing. What I’ve seen after these adoptions is a lack of caring to a degree that I don’t understand. They are loved in a home, but once they’re inconvenient, they’re discarded to whatever shelters will take them. Some don’t care whether the shelter is a kill shelter or not they’re just removing them from their responsibility and casting them on to someone else. *Now the dog or cat has to figure out who is next to care for them. I have been watching it is on YouTube shelters showing animals picking a new owner. I just wonder if the one who’s picked will do better with this heart that has been given so freely and loving. You may have agendas outside of your pets and I can’t say that I don’t, but they are depending on me and I love them. I want the best for them. I am not going to turn them over or back over to a shelter because I can’t accommodate their needs. Point is if you didn’t want them don’t adopt them. I have seen where owners take old dogs dump them into shelters and turn around and adopt a puppy in their place. I must stay here that any dog I’ve ever had has either die or if I placed them with someone else I was assured they were going to a good home. Just because they went to someone else didn’t mean I didn’t love them. I loved them greatly so I can’t imagine taking a dog to a shelter and walking away bringing home a smaller version of what I just had. I’m more speak about the dogs at this point. They have hearts they have feelings and they take separation very seriously.

‭‭Sadly when people get mad or frustrated the dog gets the abuse or neglect over it. I have watched on YouTube shelter dogs choose their owners. These dogs do the choosing. The people are blindfolded and they have no idea which dog is coming in hope that love is new. This does make the heart rejoice. Like the dogs you have hope for a better future. I have observed dogs from kennels and shelters that are coming out of neglect, abuse, and rejection. Many of them stand at the back of the kennel and don’t approach anyone, I’m sure it’s out of fear. They don’t know who or real what they can trust or who. It’s the aftermath of the abuse or neglect that hurts my heart the most. Not everyone should own a dog or cat but when you do remember they are a commitment, they bond to you, they become family if you let them. I am one who doesn’t just talk a talk but I walk the talk. I am beginning a nonprofit to benefit animals. I even want to help organizations that are helping to stop the slaughter of domestic animals as food.
